Supporting the growth and development of women-owned
The Arizona Women’s Education and Entrepreneur Center (AWEEc) is the only Women’s Business Center (WBC) in Maricopa County. The AWEE program is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
AWEEc provides business owners guidance such as training, counseling, online programs, mentoring and support networks to develop improved strategies that aid in the growth and sustainability of their business and strengthen their economic impact in our communities.
Providing an avenue for revenue for women is imperative in even the best of economies, as women do 66 percent of the world’s work yet only earn 10 percent of the world’s income. The Phoenix community will substantially benefit from women-owned small businesses and self-employment given that women reinvest 90 percent of their income in their families and communities compared with men who reinvest 30-40 percent of their income.
AWEEc provides education and resources through business training and workshops, one-on-one counseling, online programs and support networks to:
- INCREASE SUCCESS
By expanding and growing the number of successful women-owned small businesses and assist with accelerating their growth.
- SUPPORT WOMEN
Who see and leverage entrepreneurship and small-business ownership as a form of self-sufficiency.
Women who are socially and/or economically disadvantaged.
